Curriculum Planning

Based on the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017). Our curriculum is age appropriate according to children’s learning abilities and interests, we prepare interesting and exploratory courses covering all aspect of whole person development that nurture children’s diverse intelligence through six learning areas – language, nature and living, early mathematics, arts and creativity, physical health and self and society.

Learning/Teaching Approach and Activities

  1. Learning categories: language, nature and living, early mathematics, arts and creativity, physical health and self and society.
  2. Learning pattern: small group teaching, theme-based activity/exploratory learning, high-scope teaching, bi-literacy and tri-lingualism, creative art and variety of external visits.
  3. All Mandarin teachers, native English teachers and art teachers possess relevant bachelors or masters qualifications.
  4. Professional experts’seminars: environment protection, balanced diet, road safety, dental protection, fire prevention and home safety.
  5. Extracurricular activities: Ocean Park, Science museum, Art museum, Brighter Smiles Playland, Road Safety Towns, post office, police station, primary school visit, Green Education and Resources Center, outdoor sketches and parent child picnic.

Assessment of Children’s Learning Experiences

Continuous assessment: evaluation on children’s learning and development based on observations, record keeping and analysis.

Support to Students

  1. Participate in “Free Quality Kindergarten Education Scheme”.
  2. Adaptation period: parent-child simulation classes, adaptation period for new students and supports for newcomers to Hong kong.
  3. Preparation for entering primary school: primary 1 simulation classes, Ling Yan learning award schemes and parent-child primary school visits and parent seminar.
  4. Individual attention and care services.
  5. Arrange students to take part in community performance or activities.

Support to non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students

According to children’s learning characteristics, teachers use simple vocabulary as communications. Lesson activities are interactive and engaging for NCS students with learning materials adapted to suit.

Support to students with special educational needs

Early intervention and referral, adjust learning contents to accommodate different needs, individual learning assessment.

Other Activities/Communication with Parents

  1. Parents’ meetings and parents’day.
    Seminars and workshops: children’s health, psychological and physical development, parent education, reading, art and science.
  2. Parent-child activities: visits, picnic, book lending program, storytelling, dental protection projects, workshops, sports day, art carnival and science carnival.
  3. Parents volunteering.
